Watch Repair

Owned and operated by 3 generations of watch makers, watch repair is truly our heritage. Whether it is a full movement service or a vintage watch restoration, we have the experience and know how to make sure your watch does not skip a single beat. All repairs and maintenance are done on premises by our family of master watch makers.

The movement in your watch is comprised of many tiny parts including wheels, bushings, and screws all working in harmony to keep your watch running accurately. Do not trust your watch to just anyone, you want to be sure your watch is in the best hands. Below you will find links to detailed explanations of the different types of services we offer.

Stem & Crown

The stem & crown are the main controls of the watch, without a stem & crown, you would not be able to wind the watch, set the time, or adjust the date, day or other functions of your watch. Also, if the stem & crown is broken, there is no pressure seal, the watch cannot withstand water or dust particles.

New Crystal

If a watch has a broken or scratched crystal, it can be difficult or troublesome to see the dial and accurately read your timepiece. All replacement crystals we install are original, straight from the manufacturer. Once we receive the crystal, we disassemble your watch. We remove the caseback, stem & crown, and the movement. We press out the old crystal, and install the new one with the correct gaskets and adhesives. We then test the watch for water-resistance and pressurization.

Waterproofing & Resealing

Every brand new watch is water-proof from the manufacturer. Over time, the rubber gaskets in the crystal, caseback, crown, and push buttons deteriorate and dry up. In order to keep a watch fully water-proof and dependable on aquatic activities, these various gaskets need to be maintained and replaced.

Refinishing

The movement is removed from the case. The watch case is then separated and the crown, bezel, bracelet, clasp, and end pieces are taken apart. Each part requires its own brushed or polished finish and often times is a combination of both. Using a combination of hand tools, deep scratch removal tools, and stationary machines, each part is refinished to look like new. Each part is then cleaned in a high powered ultrasonic cleaning machine. Afterwards, each part is dried and the watch is then reassembled and resealed.

Overhaul

First, the caseback is opened, and the movement is removed from the watch case. The rest of the watch case, bracelet and clasp are each separately disassembled to be refinished. We then proceed to completely disassemble the entire movement part by part. We begin with removing the hands and dial. Once removed, we next remove the calendar wheel and hour wheel. If your watch is a chronograph, we then remove the chronograph module and completely disassemble it. Afterwards, the oscillating weight is removed. The oscillating weight is the part that winds an automatic watch, it is the rotor you can feel moving around when moving your wrist.
